Title Delboeuf illusion, underestimation of the outer circle
Free Keywords
Description A circle appears to be smaller than it is when a slightly smaller circle is drawn in it.
It is said that this illusion was presented by Delboeuf (1892). According to Wundt (1898), however, this illusion was proposed by Oppel (1856-1857). Delboeuf (1865) is also referred, though I failed to obtain the copy.
