one_over_f This MATLAB GUI plots and manipulates the ampulitude spectrum of an image. Zip file contents: one_over_f.fig, one_over_f.m, one_over_f_graph.m, eo_polaraverage.m Installation instructions: Once you have downloaded the one_over_f_GUI.zip, move it to an appropriate directory (in your matlabpath) and decompress it (you already did it because you can read this file!). Uninstallation instructions: Delete decompressed folder. MATLAB Release: R2007b Description Type one_over_f to run a GUI window. Press "Load image" button to open the image file. Supported formats are BMP, GIF, JPEG and PNG file. When an image is read, the necessary region is calculated and shown at another window. The necessary region is 2^m x 2^m pixels. m is the greatest integer and computed on each images. The luminance image of the region and 2-dimensional Fourier transformed amplitude spectrum is presented. The averaged amplitude spectrum is shown on log-log coordinate. It is calculated in every frequency average of 2-dimensional Fourier transformed image. Alpha is the slope of the amplitude spectrum and displayed at bottom left on the graph. Alpha of the natural image equals -1. Press "Generate" button to generate the manipulated image. The new image is achieved by multiplying the original spectrum by a factor of f^-n, where n is equal to the value in text box. The value is allowed from -2.0 to 0.0. Move the slider or type the new value to change the value in text box. When the "Generate" button is pressed, The manipulated image, 2-dimensional amplitude spectrum and the averaged amplitude spectrum are shown. Press "Save manipulated image" button to save the manipulated image.
